Privacy Policy

Kepwell LLC · Texas, USA · Questions: leads@kepwell.app

The short version. The software has no server and no user accounts. Your clients, notes, opportunities and settings are stored on your own device and are never sent to Kepwell LLC. There is no analytics, no tracking and no telemetry of any kind in the app. But it does fetch news from the internet, and that involves third parties — which is set out honestly below.

What stays on your device. Everything you enter: client names, bands, notes, contract values, IMO numbers, tickers, regions, opportunities, keywords, your services list, your licence key and your settings. These live in your browser's storage on that device, or in a file you choose to link. Clearing your browsing data, or deleting the app from a phone's home screen, deletes them. You can export everything at any time from Setup & Backup, and that export is yours.

What Kepwell LLC holds. If you bought a licence, we hold the name and email address you gave at purchase, the edition, and the date the key was issued — so that we can reissue a key if you lose it and answer questions about your purchase. That register is kept for as long as your licence is current and for a reasonable period afterwards for accounting purposes. Payment card details are handled by our payment provider and are never seen or stored by us.

What leaves your device when you run a watch. This is the part worth understanding. To find news, the software builds search queries — which include your client names, and any keywords, IMO numbers or tickers you are watching — and sends them to public news search and RSS services. Browsers will not let a page fetch from most of those services directly, so the requests are passed through public relay services. Those relay operators and news services can see the queries, and therefore the client names in them. They are not operated by Kepwell LLC and have their own privacy practices.

If that matters for your accounts, two options reduce it: run your own relay and point the software at it (Setup & Backup explains how), or keep sensitive names out of the app entirely.

Email. When you send a report or a story, the software hands the message to your own email program. It has no mail server and sends nothing itself, so no recipient address or message content passes through Kepwell LLC.

Cookies. The app sets none. It uses browser storage for your data, which is not shared with any site.

Children. The software is a business tool and is not directed at children.

Your rights. Because the data is on your device, you already have direct access to all of it: view it, edit it, export it, or delete it. For the purchase record we hold, you may ask for a copy, a correction, or deletion — write to leads@kepwell.app. Deleting the purchase record means we can no longer reissue your key.

Changes. If this policy changes materially, the change will appear in a future version of the software and on our website.
